July 1st – 10th, you can experience the ten most popular productions from the online schedule!
Due to the COVID-19 circumstances, the first opera nights move from Grüner Bebelplatz to the virtual screen. As with the originally planned public viewing, the Staatsoper Unter den Linden will present an online program free of charge with opera productions from the repertoire of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the Staatskapelle Berlin at the end of the season, July 1-10.
The choices were made by the audience: From the more than 36 different programs of the digital schedule during the first weeks of COVID-19 closure, the ten most popular were selected and are now being streamed every afternoon at 12p.m. EST as videos-on-demand on the website.
“Hippolyte et Aricie” by Jean-Philippe Rameau from the 2018-2019 season
Among the selections: Jules Massenet’s “Manon” with Anna Netrebko in the title role, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, “Hippolyte et Aricie” by Jean-Philippe Rameau under the musical direction of Simon Rattle, and “State Opera for All 2017” with Daniel Barenboim and the Staatskapelle Berlin.
