with Daniel Barenboim as conductor and Anne-Sophie Mutter as soloist
On September 26th and 27th, the Staatskapelle Berlin will present their first Subscription Concert of the season in the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and in the Philharmonie. The musical direction of both concerts is in the hands of Daniel Barenboim.
Anne-Sophie Mutter was celebrated as a soloist in Beethoven’s violin romances at “Staatsoper for All” on Bebelplatz on September 6. She now appears as a soloist in Johann Sebastian Bach’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in E major [BWV 1042], as well as in Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major op. 61.
The concert program is complemented by “Livre pour cordes” by Pierre Boulez, the honorary conductor of the Staatskapelle Berlin. The work, premiered in 1968 and performed in a revised version in 1989, will be played for the first time by the Staatskapelle Berlin. The concert is part of the Boulez Biennale and a joint initiative of the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Pierre Boulez Saal and the Philharmonie de Paris.
