On September 18, the new production of Mozart’s LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, directed by Vincent Huguet and under the musical direction of Daniel Barenboim, will be live for the first time in the opera house. The public premiere will also be broadcast live on Bebelplatz as part of STAATSOPER FÜR ALLE (Staatsoper for All). The Staatsoper for All weekend, which is taking place thanks to BMW, will be rounded off on Sunday (September 19) by a live concert on Bebelplatz with the Staatskapelle Berlin, Daniel Barenboim, and the Staatsopernchor. On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Staatsopernchor, which will be celebrated in 2021-2022, major opera choruses from well-known works are on the program, followed by Robert Schumann’s Symphony No. 2.

The first subscription concert of the Staatskapelle Berlin will take place on September 6 & 8 under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, with Martha Argerich as soloist. The program includes symphonies 1 & 2 as well as Robert Schumann’s piano concerto. In addition to the symphony concerts this season, the chamber concerts of the Staatskapelle Berlin will focus on Robert Schumann. The first chamber concerts of this series will take place on September 7 & 22 in the Apollosaal.

The season opening premiere will take place on October 3 with the premiere of COSÌ FAN TUTTE. Daniel Barenboim and Vincent Huguet are continuing their Mozart-Da-Ponte cycle, which will be performed twice during FESTTAGE 2022.
